Days 1&2: Jetlag

Today seemed like it never ended, but at the same time, as I sit to write this, the day went by so quick. Now, I wonder how we’re already here.

All of Thursday, I was nervous and frantically packing, unpacking, and repacking to make sure I had everything I needed. I never forget things, but I have the constant fear in the back of my mind that I’m going to forget or lose something.

Bao is basically a filled dough ball.

Finally, I got done packing and was out the door waiting at the flagpole at 5:19. It was freezing outside, and after a while I couldn’t feel my fingers or ears.

Once we were on the bus, I was a little worried about traffic, but we arrived with plenty of time. I ate dinner there like we were recommended to, and I had bao for the first time! I was obsessed with how cute they were, but my orange chicken was sub-par.

After we explored and got food, we all made our way back to the gate. Even sitting together in the boarding area was fun! We made sure to chat and take some great photos.

Once we were on our flight, it was smooth sailing, literally. We had pillows, blankets, and the view was beautiful. Flying has always excited me, and I love the feeling when the plane takes off.

Once, we were settled in, I managed to sleep at least around 6 hours, and it was a good idea. Jet-lag is real though, especially while writing this.

The landing was the smoothest I’ve ever experienced! I have to admit though, I definitely felt odd. You could tell that our group stood out as Americans.

It was all fine though, and once we got off, I got my first passport stamp! I’ve never been out of the country, so this was very exciting for me.

Our view!

The Copenhagen airport was beautiful (not to say the Gothenburg airport wasn’t).

The view flying out of Denmark really took the cake! I made Nicole take pictures out of our window to capture the moment.

Once we finally arrived, I just wanted to lay down and nap, but we had to make our way to where we were getting dinner.

Dinner was absolutely amazing. I had the salmon and shrimp pasta, and it was the size of my face. I only managed to finish half.

Then, we made our way to Tin Tin’s for dessert. I finished my day off with a fabulous vanilla latte (way better than Starbucks). Overall, I’m excited to wake up tomorrow and see more of the city.

Daily Reflections:

1. Everything will turn out fine, just relax.

2. Always sleep on the plane.

3. Make sure to use the buddy system. It’s more fun, and it’s safe!
